Packaging industry has a good opportunity to breathe, environmental protection can not be ignored
Behind the explosion of online express delivery, waste packaging cartons, piles of wrapping tape... A series of environmental pollution problems followed, which made the original e-commerce with environmental protection characteristics become unprotected.
For the treatment of so many bags, many people throw them directly at the express or into the garbage can. Only a small number of people will reuse the waterproof express bags outside the package as garbage bags. According to the data, there are tens of millions of discarded packages produced by express delivery every day. The packaging tape used annually can circle the earth more than 200 times. The waste and pollution caused by over-packaging of online shopping is worrying.
"In urban solid waste, packaging can generally account for about 20%, from the current situation, with the rapid growth of express business, the proportion of packaging is indeed increasing." Wang Yuezhong, assistant president of China Packaging Federation, said. Another statistic shows that about 16 million tons of packaging wastes are produced annually in China, and the proportion of packaging wastes in urban solid wastes exceeds 30%.
Every year, we have many shopping carnivals of our own. Although these carnivals may not have much to do with foreign countries (if you have to say yes, there are), we can also see how these developed countries handle the packaging garbage. Please be modest and learn from them. It's always right.
At the international level, it is a common practice for many countries to regulate commodity packaging by using technical standards. Relevant countries have accumulated rich legislative and practical experience in this regard.
Britain: As one of the first countries in the world to advocate "Zero Waste Action", the UK has reduced the weight of commodity packaging by 40% in the past 20 years. From the legislative level, there are provisions for packaging in the United Kingdom, requiring that packaging should not add too much packaging in addition to satisfying the hygiene and safety of goods. If the regulations are violated, consumers can complain, and local governments can deal with them.
Germany: The German Packaging Regulations stipulate that the volume and weight of packaging should be reduced to meet the minimum requirements for the protection of commodity safety and hygiene, and can be accepted by consumers. Where the volume of packaging is obviously more than 10% of the goods themselves and the cost of packaging is obviously more than 30% of the goods, it should be judged as "commercial fraud" which infringes on the rights and interests of consumers. If the volume of carton is enlarged and illusion is produced, it belongs to deceptive packaging.
Japan: New Packaging Guidelines have been promulgated, which require minimizing the volume of packaging containers. The vacancies in the containers should not exceed 20% of the volume of the containers, and the cost of packaging should not exceed 15% of the selling price of the products.
South Korea: South Korea's "Standards for Packaging Methods of Various Kinds of Products" clearly stipulates the packaging space and packaging levels (several layers of packaging). South Korea also regards over-packaging as an illegal act. If manufacturers do not reduce the packaging ratio and layers of products according to government regulations, they will be fined up to 3 million won.
Therefore, the shopping carnival, let's not be busy chopping hands, the express garbage reasonable classification and treatment, energy conservation and environmental protection and ecological civilization construction into the details of life, is serious. If you have to cut your hands, remember not to throw them around. It will also frighten children and flowers and plants if it destroys the environment.
